Henry Kissinger was a Harvard professor when he accepted a “job offer” (request) from President Richard Nixon to join the Nixon Administration in Washington.
The “joke” at the time was along these lines:
Henry is leaving the professional league of back stabbing vicious politics (academia), to join the “amateur league (Washington and International Politics.)
There is a LOT of TRUTH in the “joke”.
Academia is a hot bed of gossip, slander, and staff room politics. It has been set up that way as a means of mind control. There is NO academic freedom anymore. Anybody who does not “toe the official line” is “out the door” very rapidly. They are denied tenure. There is an end of semester Staff Review. The excuses vary. But the agenda is the same — mind control, “thought control”, and NO ORIGINAL RESEARCH. you say “the right thing”, you publish the right thing — or it is “Sayonara”.
It is why Russian university courses are now so superior to those in the English speaking world. It is why educational standards have been dropping in the English speaking world for decades.
The “fix”?

Study and learning are ultimately about human advancement. You cannot “advance” in a toxic and evil milieu. And TOXIC and EVIL is exactly what the viciouss “staff room gossip” system is/
