There are apparent links between the Essene community of Qumran and Egypt, i.e. “ancient Egypt”.
There is also LOTS of indications of links or at least “connections” between Jesus and the Essenes and Qumran community.
One of those “connections” is “The Copper Scroll”. Its design is identical to Egyptian designs. This implies at least some connection between the Qumran Community, located near The Dead Sea, and Egypt.
Is this what the “Templar Knights” found — that Christianity, or at least Jesus’ version of it, had more links to ancient knowledge and study (mysticism?) than “traditional European” Christianity teaches??
